Adam Lambert.

WOW.
I had to run out last night for a NILMDTS
session so I missed the last couple of
contestants on this week’s American Idol.
Thank goodness for TiVo, right? WRONG!

Adam Lambert’s performance got completely
cut, leaving me to wonder “What did he sing?”
“Did the judges love him…again?” “How did
he do?” “What did he where?” etc..

I was so disappointed when we rewound to
watch only to have TiVo end abruptly at 9pm.
GET IT RIGHT FOX!
We will set it to tape the news at 9 in the
future also so it doesn’t happen again.

Today, I Googled and found THIS!

I have other favorites but this bastard
keeps knockin’ it out!!!

The best season so far, in my opinion.
And I’ve seen them all. (my guilty pleasure)

Slacking…

So I must make a confession.
I’ve felt a little liberated lately
as I have been blogging from my iPhone.
Not that I wont’ sit down and TCB from
my G5 but sometimes, when I’m out and about,
It’s fun to just capture what I’m doing
on the fly and send it off.
That said, happy Wednesday.
I met a couple on Twitter that are up for
“Race to the Altar” on the TODAY show.
They were on this morning, selling cupcakes
to the crowd and Tom & Annie
WON!!! Yay!

An even COLDER snap!

Perhaps I should say cold SLAP!
below 30 this morning…28 to be exact.
So I’m warming up to a 1/2 caff press.
I know…CRAZY right?!
I’m experimenting with coffee these
days and I don’t want to just go off
the caffeine completely all at once.

I have to leave in and hour for the
Casino. Today’s project is from 8-noon.
Then I return tomorrow evening for the
big banquet from 6-9.

This morning they are handing out some
tribal awards. Drummers and dancers
are coming in as well. WAKE~UP~PEOPLE!!!!
I’ll try to post some photos of that
tomorrow.

We had a peaceful night of Dancing with
the Stars and my one cheese show CSI Miami!
It’s like watching a train wreck.
Last night “Callie”, played by Emily Proctor,
was taking photos at a crime scene and then
she set it down and comPLETEly walked away
from it to go ask some construction foreman
some questions…I mean, she just LEFT the
camera about 40 yards away in the dirt.
right! Crime scene photos on a $10,000 camera.
Can you say…”job opening”!?

Here’s a warm thought…
Owen being encouraged to jump to Dad
last summer at the Baker pool.
He’ll be ready this year, he’s been taking
swimming lessons all winter! icon smile An even COLDER snap!

Idol Gives Back.

The buzz is all about the “controversial”
finale song “Shout to the Lord”. That song
always makes me cry and last night was no
exception. If you missed it, check it out.
Unfortunately for me, I thought
I was taping it. Turns out…no. Because
it ran past 9 and these idiotic satellites
don’t understand the concept of “tape Idol
Gives Back”. Hey, I mean, it’s their schedule,
right? Thank goodness for YOUTUBE! icon smile Idol Gives Back.

Moving on….
Today, Gary’s best friend Jim (Jimbo) will
lay his mother, Sarah to rest. She passed away
late last Saturday. Gary and I will go down
to Canon Falls, MN for the service.
Although she was not doing well, she also
recently fell and hit her head and that just
made matters worse, of course.
So Sarah has gone home to be with the Lord
and we will celebrate that today.
To Jimbo and Suzie, my sympathy.

I’m going to get Hope Roseanne’s photos on
to a CD today and take it down to Abbott
Tomorrow.

Jacquie, see you tomorrow at 10.

Celeb 4 a day….

So get this~
I contacted the folks at Celeb 4 a day yesterday
and I asked them “why not Minneapolis?” and they replied
that they would be on the Today Show this morning.
I set my DVR to record last night so as not to forget.
I woke this morning & had received a note from Tania Cowher
(C4D) and she wrote that they got bumped, most likely due to the
untimely death of Heath Ledger.
They will be on the Today Show this Friday morning.
I”m looking forward to watching the segment! Please tune
in on Friday! Food luck Tania!!

Okay, seriously, this must be the last day of sub-zero
temps or I am no longer going to be held responsible for
my actions! Last night was the coldest night in forever!
High of 13 is expected today. At least the sun is out, right?

Cold update…I slept for and hour & a half between clients
yesterday, then I slept for 2 & half hours around 4
when I was done for the day, then went to bed at 11 and
slept until just after 8. So, FYI? I now answer to the name
of Rip Van Winkle too. I’m working on the beard. icon wink Celeb 4 a day....

Now, are you a cat fan? Well, I have a treat for you
today…I have a client who has forwarded me the url for
this woman in Germany who attaches a camera to her cat’s
neck and it takes a photo every 15 seconds…cool, right?
Click here for the cat’s photos.

Huh, if I put one on either of my cats, I’d
get comforter, comforter, comforter, butt, paw, food,
comforter, ceiling, ceiling, ceiling, floor, stairs
hallway, litter box, hallway, stairs, comforter!
Not sure my cats are ready for YouTube just yet! LOVE them.

Remember the “House of Fun & Fur”? I’m going back there
tomorrow to shoot some Valentine’s Day images with her
furry friends! Gonna be sooo fun!

bye.

oh, mom, I’ll get some Zicam on your recommendation!

jane seymor…

okay, so yesterday i stopped by the griffin gallery
to pick up my handbag. it’s even cuter than i
remembered! this is also the bag that jane had with
her at the event. she said it was her “personal
favorite”! nice.

7274 jane seymor...

she dedicates her artwork to each person and
signs each piece personally. cool, huh?!
who would have thought that i would have a
shopping opportunity while i was working!

7273 jane seymor...

7275 jane seymor...

i talked to deb mack a couple of times yesterday
in regards to my working with her and the gallery
for future events and she’s really excited to know
that i would make myself available to her and bill in
the future. very cool!
get over to that gallery and have a look around!
it’s in the old “camelot” restaurant location.
it’s sooooo very great!!!

also i heard from ricardo edlestein with “tropical
plants unlimited”, he would like to work with me as
well and refer me to clients of his for photographing
events including perhaps shooting product for
he and his wife, bonnie! i just love connections,
don’t you?! these are all terrific people with
tremendous talents and i’m happy to know them and
represent them now and in the future.

diane and jim’s images from the weekend are on their
way to being uploaded to Pictage for viewing.
i completed editing them late today and hope to release
them to diane and jim sometime tomorrow! yay!!!!

did you watch “shaq’s big challenge” last night?
obese children on the road to recovery…pretty cool.

i would like to point out that july 8th, which
just happens to be my brother tim’s 49th birthday,
is also the 1 year anniversary of my blog. my plan
is to provide a special offer to those who refer to
my blog’s anniversary when inquiring about the cost
of my photography! i’ll keep you all posted on the
particulars…

finally, a cool down is on the way. the heat and
humidity has been just hideous!

enjoy the day!

happy birthday bonnie!

today is gary’s mom’s birthday!
we are all going to head out to dinner
tonight at a new spot…
ruby’s something or other…it’s another
“axel’s” off shoot restaurant.
yes, of course i’m going to bring my camera!
and i’ll get the name straight tonight too.

it is gorgeous today…low 70′s and sunny.
this is why we minnesotan’s live here…for
the 6 really nice days a year that we get! icon smile happy birthday bonnie!
the rest of the year is simply designed to
keep the “riff~raff” out! but that doesn’t
seem to be working so well lately.
before they die…here’s some colorful stuff
from out front…(well, not the first one)

4509b happy birthday bonnie!

4564 happy birthday bonnie!

4505 happy birthday bonnie!

g’s birthday is tomorrow…card’s in the mail!

hobie & katie’s vet visit went really well.
dr. rodney toogood was just happy to see hobie
and not have to do the roto rooter thing to him
for once! dr. toogood is really great.
altho’ dr. lorna reichle is studying animal
behavior for 2 more years at the u of m and
we miss her, dr. bey & dr. toogood are really
pretty wonderful.
hobie is just under 14 pounds and katie just
over 10…they really are mostly hair!
going to change that very soon however.

my brother, scott, is coming over this morning
for a haircut. he apparently started something
that he couldn’t finish yesterday and has
called in the professional to fix it!
then we are going to head out for just a bit
to discuss what photos are needed on his
web site and also toss around some ideas that
he can consider to get his name out there!

scott is a mediator, life coach (& fitness buff)
extraordinaire …AND a 1st degree black belt!

tomorrow evening, i’ll be meeting with cheryl
maclennan of the starkey hearing foundation.
she’s flying up from grapevine texas to meet
with the photographers for the gala to discuss
the game plan. can’t wait to meet her!

one last thing…“hell’s kitchen”.
chef ramsey has another great group of
winers on his hands this season!
makes me appreciate a perfectly prepared
meal when we go out to a restaurant that’s
for sure!

try to get outside today! icon smile happy birthday bonnie!

happy birthday hobie & katie!!

i must first wish my cats a
happy, happy birthday!!!!

so, the scripps spelling bee….WOW!
i thought that all they did was
memorize words..turns out these kids
memorize roots and definition!
CRAZY how these students can pull
something out of thin air just by
knowing a word’s root origin!
and then, not only that, but they actually
congratulating their opponents authentically
after they lose. i’m amazed! wow!
most of these kids are “home schooled”
and i think that if they had been
allowed to remain in “mainstream”
schools that they would have been
massively attacked personally and/or
crucified by your everyday student.
it’s sad to say that students today
just simply are afraid of and are
threatened by those who have i.q.’s
greater than the average student.
the nerds of today are the billionaires
of tomorrow!

last night we bounced back and forth
from “so you think you can dance” to
“so you think you can spell”! big night
at the austin house!!

today…2 cancer families check
into the airport hilton in bloomington.
(don’t forget about hobie & katie’s
11th birthday today!!)

i aligned myself with a new organization
yesterday… it’s the CFPA!
“children & family photographers of
america”…pretty cool group!
i’m excited to be apart of this great
team and share my knowledge!
check them out!
here are a few of the images that i
submitted to them…

5448 72dpi happy birthday hobie & katie!!

kathyn 72 dpi happy birthday hobie & katie!!

1533 72 dpi happy birthday hobie & katie!!

i’ll be adding their logo, the miracles of mitch
logo and the NILMDTS logo to my home page soon.
perhaps the starkey hearing foundation one as well.
all with hyper~links.

then next best thing…

perhaps my new guilty pleasure…
this is a show where they are looking
for the next best celebrity impersonators.
it’s pretty darn funny.
the judges are really great.
i think they are on to atlanta next week.

another beauty…”shear genious”.
they just wrapped up their season with
a finale last night and i must admit,
i have been told about this show for months
but have not seen one episode until last night.
not bad. i would have been able to call
this one from the start i’m afraid!!

moving on….

we finally got the rain that they have
been promising!
so much last night that a husband & wife
duck team moved in…..so cute!
i’m hoping they nest here….if they do
i will be sure to post updates and photos.

can you believe tomorrow is june 1st?!
busy month for me. weddings, portraits and
the starkey hearing foundation gala.
june’s going to go fast!

getting together with one of my nieces soon
to do her birthday hair/photo shoot!
these are soo much fun. i’ll be shooting
her senior session later this summer!

i still owe emily HER birthday hair/shoot!

hobie and katie’s 11th birthday is tomorrow!
they got birthday cards yesterday from a
local pet store with a coupon for a free toy!~
how cute is that!

it’s gorgeous here today….upper 70′s and sunny!~
perfect summer day.

enjoy it.

"on the lot"…

okay, love the show…hate the host!
we are going to tivo and zip passed this
“nails on the chalkboard” woman. she’s
just awful. and another thing…
could they BE anymore like american idol?
i love the concept of the show, i’ve
enjoyed the movies these folks have
put together yet they butcher it with
the female version of “dunkelman”.
that’s right, remember him? he was
ryan seacrest’s side kick the first year
when kelly clarkson won. yep, she’s that bad!

lots of hair today (including my own).
sheena is coming by later to swap
services. i’m thinkin’ a little color!

i have a huge order coming from WHCC today.
can’t wait. included in that oder is
“angel” from last friday morning. i’ll be
sending those images and DVD on to that
family later today.

got an incredible sample package from
“graphistudios” in italy. beautiful sample
albums, replica albums and parents albums.
affordable, gorgeous wedding album design.
i’ve been waiting for this package since
OCTOBER!! i actually had forgotten that i
ordered it. it’s just stunning work.
can’t wait to produce my first album
with them.

have a great day.
thanks for the note lois. say hi to felice!
we really want you two to come up this summer!
