Blue, but better…

Yesterday morning I got an e-mail from Roger Poore
from the Rainbow Bridge. I made a donation in
Hobie’s name the other day therefore he has
added HOBIE to the list of supporters.

I am so grateful for all of my friends & family
that have risen up in support for Gary and I this
week. It has just meant the world to us.
Thank You.

I began working on the triplets Senior images…WOW!
Handsome, Handsome and Lovely!
To Adam, Max & Paige…thank you for the
opportunity and creating the ideal session
situation. I can’t wait to share them with you!

This morning I’m going through another Paige’s
senior portraits that I shot yesterday so that I can
get to the wedding images from today when I’m
completed with that.

I have a family shoot tomorrow mornings with one
on the way and a 2 year old darling little blondie~
I can’t wait to get to their home!
Then I get to cool it for the week and photograph
a couple of Seniors next weekend. I love this
time of year! Shoot, Shoot, Shoot!

I still have to find time to study for my SCUBA
certification. Looking forward to diving on my
own this year in Mexico! Soon I’ll be shooting
underwater weddings in the Caribbean! Woooo Hoooo!

Check out Paige from yesterday…

Mom update.

My mom remains in ICU where she spent the
night last night. A general surgeon came in
around 6 and determined that she, more than
likely, had a perforated ulcer in the bowel.
YUCK, right?! Yep, YUCK.

This is totally unrelated to her back surgery.
Altho’ it seems suspicious, we were quickly
educated on the probability of this happening
to our mom and the timing was just that. Timing.

She was admitted on Wednesday for a simple
Laminectomy. My mom, being the comic relief
expert that she is, said upon admission..”Oh, I
didn’t know I was getting new counter tops!
“WHOA! Stop Mom! You’re killin’ me!

By Friday morning, my mom was developing pain
in her abdomen. This later got much, much worse
and so they took her down for not 1 but 2
separate CT scans and discovered that she had
a huge air pocket behind her diaphragm causing
horrific pain…I mean, forGET about the back
surgery recovery and morphine for a minute..
my mom is in full on, screaming,”don’t touch me!”
pain. This is just awful! To sit idly by and
listen to my mom writhe in pain…unrelated to
her back. they sent for Dr. Osee (sp?) and he
took one, tender touch to her belly and said,
“we need to do surgery, now.”

We (Cindy, my mom’s sister was with me) started
the phone call brigade and quickly ran out of battery.
4 siblings and friends and my uncle.
Cindy and I went to dinner when they took mom
down for surgery. We needed a break and a little
comic relief of our own. So we had a little
giggle fest and wine with our dinner and returned
to the hospital. Soon after, Mike, my younger
bother popped his head in the door of the
family room on mom’s floor. We sat at the computer
there and watched some of my slide shows and
I introduced them to “Twitter”.

Around 9 o’clock, Dr. Osee came in the family
room and I was shocked to see him so soon.
Successful surgery but not out of the woods.
It was indeed, perforated ulcer and he patched
that up. She will need to stay in the hospital
for the next 5 to 7 days. Think I’ll bring her
own pillow down there

This morning, I just learned that they are taking
her off of the ventilator (she was having a tough
time breathing last night) which, of course, is
awesome! Mike is there now and the others will
be there soon. I will be shooting a wedding all
day so I will return to the hospital tomorrow.

Feel free to check my twitter as I will be updating
today remotely!

Thank you for all your prayers and support and to
Marty Noll, you are such a champion of medical
liaison-ness! Yes, I think that should be a word! icon smile Mom update.

Fraud Sucks!

Now, I understand that we must be vigilant
regarding protecting ourselves, our things
and our credit, but I discovered this morning
that my joint account debt card was recovered
somewhere and then used nearby. It’s so sad
to think that, albeit my disregard…I take
full ownership of that, you can’t trust people.
I have always said, in situations out of my
control..”I have faith in people!” Now I have
to say….”cover your ass whenever you can”

Sure, I’m disappointed in myself for not being
more responsible (my first time ever losing
a debit or bank card!) I even suspect that
just like locking car keys in the car, I will
forever make certain that I have my card when
I complete a purchase by double and triple
checking! There, that’s off my chest!

Next on the docket…Starkey Hearing Foundation.
I just learned that I have been requested to
cover the VIP party at the Austin’s home
tomorrow evening along with some other fun
photographers..Rafael Victorian and Dave Johnson
(of National Camera Exchange fame) We will ROCK
that party! I will be coming right from the
Ultimate Bass Challenge on Minnetonka performing a
quick change at home! I had such a gas last
year shooting at their home I can’t wait to
get there tomorrow!

I have to get up really early to get over to
Lord Fletcher’s to get suited up for my
Ranger Bass Boat that I requested so that I
can get some awesome action shots of all the
pro/am fishermen & women! Then I’ll high-tale
it over to Al & Alma’s for the boat cruise
with the Northwester Health Sciences University
folks for a lunch cruise on the lovely Lake
Minnetonka…I sure hope the weather holds out!

FYI, Boo slept with us last night and was a
very good sleeper. Who Knew!?

Matt & Jennifer are at the Mimi in Playa
celebrating their anniversary!
Anne and I sent them a bucket of beer over
the internet….COOL! I hope they love it there!

Have a great day!

I HATE COMCAST

There. I said it.
I successfully have NO e-mail now.
Not on my phone, not on my Mac.
I spent an hour with them on the phone
yesterday (in my basement on the first
really nice day of the season) trying
to sort out the issue.

They changed something overnight on
Wednesday and now they tell me that it
is not compatible with my Leopard operating
system….WHAT!!!????

The drama will unfold soon, I can only pray.
I can access my mail remotely (thank goodness for
e-mailanywhere.com)

POP server, IMAP server, incoming, outgoing,
it’s really all Greek to me but when it works
I’m in my happy place and when it’s not,
well..I’m not.

Alright, now I know a lot of you are wondering
why all the personal stuff lately and not
so much photography…you are not alone.
That said, starting next weekend (Memorial Day
weekend) and running through into September
I am going full on into wedding season.
Every weekend (except for the Starkey Hearing
Foundation Gala the week of June 14th) I have
a wedding to shoot! I’m so excited! So watch
for some gorgeous weddings starting the week
after Memorial Day. It’s going to be a crazy
summer!

Now, one last thing today before I sign off.
I have to give a huMONGus shout out to the
Palomino in Minneapolis.

See the cute blonde in the long red dress?

1686 I HATE COMCAST
1725 I HATE COMCAST
Okay, this is cool…
So this group of like 15 couples took this
fabulous limo to Palomino for dinner before
the prom at International Market Square.
G’s date, Zach, accidentally spilled this girl’s
drink ALL OVER HER DRESS! OMG!!!!!!!!
Someone from the Palomino (not sure if it was
the manager or the waiter or who) asked her where
she got her dress…she said “Macy’s.” So he went
to see if they could clean it or something
Macy’s replied…”sorry, nothing we can do.”
(SHOCKER!!..i hate macy’s too!) and so he
bought her another red dress and brought it
back to the restaurant and gave it to her!!
Couldn’t get the exact same one, but he got her
another red dress, in her size…can you stand it!?
how aMAzing is that. UnHEARD of customer service!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Palomino!

Gotta go!
