Hello everyone!
Today is June 2nd and I have a confession
to make. I TOTALLY FORGOT that yesterday
was Hobie & Katie’s TWELFTH birthday!
Bad mother, BAD mother. The good news is
that they forgot too! 
John took his bride on a hush, hush, secret
honeymoon that only he and his travel agent
knew about so I have no idea where they are
but perhaps they are somewhere where they
can log in and check out my blog today!
I just wanted to share a few images from
Saturday with everyone so here goes…
God brought a very special couple together
yesterday in a fabulous Cathedral surrounded
by an intimate collection of family and friends.
Off to the Walker Art Center Sculpture Garden
Where Nemanja endured my goofy side.
Then to Ichiban’s Japanese Steak House in Mpls
for some spectacular food fun with our chef “Juice”.

I shot a wedding for Bella Pictures last August
and they submitted it for editorial consideration
to The Knot. Now the Knot wants to run it in the
Fall/Winter 2008 The Knot Weddings ~Minnesota
as a Real Wedding Story!
Yes, imagine my shock when I was out to lunch
with my friend talking about getting published
and I got this e-mail on my iPhone right then
& there! WOW! I’ll be posting more on that for
sure as the issue hits the stands!
Here’s a few shots from that day…
At that same lunch, my friend Jacquie informed
me that one of my images that I shot at an
Urban Ventures event (Colin Powell Center Grand
Opening) last summer will be published in their
annual report (Jacquie is a board member for them).
I’m getting a byline! Super cool!
I actually think it might even be this one…
Lastly, I got the call from Cheryl McClennan.
She was the coordinator for all the photographers
at last year’s Starkey Gala. This year I’ll be
available for the Gala itself and that’s gonna
be VERY cool! Sir Elton John will be performing!
If any of my photographer friends are interested
please send me an e-mail as you never know how
many they are looking for. They have so many
events leading up to the Gala. This year it’s the
week of June 9th with the Gala on Saturday the 14th.

I forgot to post some images from my Bella Pictures
engagement session from Super Bowl Sunday….
I’ve enjoyed working for Bella Pictures on the
Wedding front and this was my first engagement session.
We met at the Mall of America at Lego Land.
From there, we just kind of hopped around~looking for
some spots that weren’t completely taken over by
guests of the park or under construction. Not an
easy task that day!!
We tore it up for about an hour and below are a
few of my faves. Now, these are just mine to play
with and do as a choose as they really belong to
Bella Pictures but that’s part of the fun for me.
Go out, meet some fabulous couples and photograph
them and turn the rest over to Bella.
There are similar operations, here in Minneapolis,
like Camelot & Bella Gala. Please don’t misunderstand
my focus here, I LOVE to deliver all my own work and
throughout the year I do plenty. It’s just a nice
departure from time to time to attend weddings at
new venues and meet other photographers without
all the added deadlines. THAT said…here’s Anne & Alan.
Anne & Alan are getting married this June here in
Minneapolis. I secretly want to shoot their wedding
as well!

my niece, amanda, is having her kid party today.
this is MEA weekend so the kids are out of school.
she’s taking her friends bowling and i’m tagging
along to photograph the fun!
jenny and olivia we wish you were here. maybe i
can get anne to video a little and we can put it
up on my blog for you to watch.
at least you will see anne and pete in a few days.
IN PARIS!!!! you high rollers! hey, why aren’t you
blogging. not that i don’t want to keep staring at
the photo of you and your mom each time i check in.
just wondering what’s up…
my blog may get a little more fun starting on tuesday
of next week, i’ll be reporting from my sister’s
as i will be watching their girls while they are in
the “f” word…..(france), yes indeed, ooooo~lala!
this will be the 3rd time they have trusted me with
those little darlings in the past year or so.
first to australia/fiji last fall. then st. lucia this
past spring..pete travels a lot. but skype comes in
real handy!
my bella friend from chicago, megan, may come in tonight
and stay here. that’ll be crazy!! she’s shooting a
wedding here in minneapolis on saturday and wanted
to come in a little early.
happy birthday jimbo! i’ll remember from now on that
your birthday is the 18th!!

today my mom is celebrating another birthday.
we are going to head over to mike & kindra’s
later today for cake and ice cream as they
have graciously offered up their home as the
birthday place today. they also have a new
deck that they have recently completed so i
think they would like us all to see that too!

she’s coming over today for me to work my magic
with her hair. not that it needs magic.

last night mike and kindra brought owen over
for a cut then paid me with punch pizza!

elena, a new photographer friend who i have yet
to meet, is going to join in on our PUG group
this tuesday! she’s wanted to come but just
hasn’t. i’m really excited to meet her.

wow! what a fabulous day and what an
extraordinary opportunity i was given to
photograph susan & glenn’s wedding day!
every last detail was perfect and
glenn was so proud and happy to have
his susan by his side as his wife and
susan clearly was at home in glenn’s
arms. this was truly a match made in
heaven. lots of love, tears, laughter….
even a “bugie” or two to go around that
will surely be passed down through the
generations to come.
thank you susan & glenn for allowing me
to come along and photograph your wedding.

how much rain actually fell yesterday?
i don’t know but at times i could hardly
see across the street! we are certain
to have mushrooms come up in the lawn
any minute! saves me a trip to the store!
i finished up elena’s proofs yesterday.

i must say that when i don’t have a wedding
already scheduled to photograph under my own
name, i LOVE working for bella! for me, it
works. i have met and worked with some really
terrific photographers from all over and
the stuff we share like techniques and
equipment favorites etc….such fun!
i’ve made some lifelong friends and there
is sure to be more down the road.
and when the time comes to let it go…
i’ll be okay with that too.

rescheduling with corey, my web designer,
soon so that i can make that 2008 deadline
for myself…it’s all about goals right?
i’ll be certain to call for a re-launch in
january…it’ll be a big ‘ol bash for sure!

okay, this is one of those rainy days
that you look forward to so you can
catch up and get stuff done, right?
well, the list is long so i got up early!
i present you with about 22 images from
my wedding on saturday with my fabulous
new friend and colleague…megan bearder
out of chicago. i don’t know about her
but i, for one, had an absolute blast!
(oh, and for the record…it’s not going to
rain today as reported…it’s going to be sunny
and 70…hmm…how does that work??)
here’s the biggest news ever!!
no, i’m not pregnant…altho’ that
would indeed be big news!!
however, on to the next biggest news…
so, i go up to brooklyn center and
meet up with kathleen smith to “man”
the nilmdts booth at the mppa conference.
whose booth is right next to ours????
“national camera”! dave johnson is running
it. and i said “i’m #2 on the list for the
mark III!!! i’m so excited!”
and dave goes…”well, i can get you one
right now!” and i go…”what?”
seems dave has a mark III set aside for
a guy who is waiting on an insurance check
and he is going to let me take that one
and put the other guy in my place @ #2!
i KNOW!! i TOLD you it was the biggest news!
i’m going to go up and pick it up tomorrow
as dave is still at the show through today.
tonight is going to be like Christmas Eve
when I was 8 and couldn’t wait to get
my barbie camper!!
well i’m going to cut this one short so
that i can complete an album and finish
up some senior portraits so that when
i pick up my camera tomorrow i can play
a little!!
dean and lois….did you make it back to
arizona yet???

gary and i are celebrating out 9th
wedding anniversary tomorrow! we’re going
to celebrate next weekend.
we have ordinarily gone out to northern
california for our anniversary but i scheduled
a bella wedding this past saturday so we are
going all out NEXT weekend instead!

she’s been waiting awhile to see some
of these. i’ll be ordering her proof
book tomorrow. should be here mid-week.

dean and lois head out today. they are
driving down to northfield to see some
of their old teacher friends and then the
long journey back to arizona.
it’ll be quite around here with them
gone and i’ll miss my talks with lois.
i set her hair again for her yesterday
so that she could be looking smashing
when she see’s all of her friends later
today and tomorrow.
last night we hit redstone in eden prairie
and we all had the ribs. they are so
awesome there! the just fall off the bone!
and dean finally got a manhattan JUST the
way he likes it! thanks redstone!
(i brought my new 1.4 along~gotta love
razor thin depth of field!)
we were invited to pop by anne & pete’s
today to hang at the pool…sounds like
a plan to me! (sorry we didn’t make it
over there yesterday)
i should be receiving my pack from bella
in a day or so for the wedding this
saturday. i would like to correct a
statement i made a few days ago about
this wedding…i had the wrong bride’s
name. susan veltum and glenn hall are
getting married on the 22nd of september.
this saturday is eleanor kelley and corey orehek.
the will be married at minikahda and have
the reception there as well.
megan bearder of bella is flying in to
shoot this with me. i’ve talked to her
on the phone a few times and i think
that we will be fast friends!
my sister started her own blog a couple
of days ago so that she and jenny (in holland)
can communicate in a fun new way over the
next 2 years while they are away.
so i have added a link to that as well under
“check these out”…which is where i found
out that my brother mike and his wife kindra
are having another baby!!!! in february!!!!
wow!!! this is big news…wonderful news!
